Crawford Couny Community

Crawford County has some of the finest school systems in the country. Van Buren, Alma, Cedarville, Mulberry, and Mountainburg are all schools that provide quality education as well as a strong athletic program.

Van Buren

Van Buren has a population of over 19,000 located just across the river from Ft. Smith. In downtown Van Buren on Main Street you will find a variety of shops housed in century old buildings. This historic beauty and atmosphere gives those who come a memorable experience.

Old Timers Day is held here each year and thousands come to participate in this annual event.

Alma

Just 7 miles northeast of Van Buren is Alma, Arkansas. Alma is a small town with one of the finestschools in the country. In 2000 the new 5:40 extension from Alma to Fayetteville was completed, providing much easier access to the Fayetteville area. Some of the bridges on the new highway are over 200 feet high. In the fall the leaves turn providing a flaming fall review. This drive from Alma to Fayetteville is one of the most scenic and colorful you will ever drive on.

Just 3 miles East of Alma are two golf courses, one 18 hole and one 9 hole. Most golfers consider maintenance on these to be excellent.

In Alma construction was recently finished on the new Performing Arts Center, a beautiful structure built to stand the test of time.

The Alma area is one that has land available for future growth having its own water supply Alma Lake on Mountain Grove Road.

Alma is only 15 minutes from Ft. Smith and is an excellent place to raise a family. Alma's small town atmosphere is more than ready for the challenges of the future.

Mulberry

Just 10 miles east of Alma lies Mulberry, Arkansas. Mulberry has a very good school system and the City of Mulberry, like Alma, has great growth potential. Mulberry has it's own water supply.

Each September the Crawford County Fair is held in Mulberry. Quality living at an affordable price in small town America.

Mountainburg

Just 10 miles North of Alma is Mountainburg, Arkansas. Mountainburg is convenient to many areas, less than 25 miles to Ft. Smith, and approximately 32 miles to Fayetteville. Mountainburg, at the foot of the Boston Mountains on Hwy. 71 is indeed a location with lots of scenic beauty.

Cedarville

Just 10 miles north of Van Buren is Cedarville, Arkansas on Hwy 59. Cedarville is the answer for those wanting to have a touch of country yet be convenient to larger towns ... a fine place to settle down.
